Toko School was delivered in the mail thirty memorial crosses to make up for a memorial to represent our fallen soldiers in World War 1 and to acknowledge the 100 year anniversary of the event.
These crosses had a procedure of how to make each of them inside the box. As a challenge we were asked to make them up following the procedure as this linked to our writing.
We had to first create the crosses, add the soldiers names to them and the silver fern. We then had to nail in the bottom of the cross so they would stand up in the ground. We are going to place them by our flag pole during our ANZAC assembly which is coming up on Tuesday.
We really enjoyed learning all about the soldiers, their rank and what they contributed to their time at war.
