Fireman Trev gives Year 8's one last ride! By Miss O'B

Fireman Trev visits the leaving Year 8's of 2015 by Miss O'B

Fireman Trev travelled to Toko School to have his annual trip on Monday 14th December to farewell our very special Year 8 group. Each student got a chance to have the traditional ride in 'flick' the fire engine around the Toko School field and where given some very special words of advice for the future from Fireman Trev. Thank you for the visit Trev we really appreciate it from the Year 8 group 2015.

Room 5 Camp 2015!

Room 5 Camp 2015! By Miss O'B

Room 5 headed off to camp on Monday 23rd November till Friday 27th November 2015. We headed over to Turangi for camp! We rock climbed, we ccompleted the Tongariro Crossing and some even climbed to the top of Ngauruhoe! We made rations at the Waiouru Army Museum, we played mini putt, we cruised the Huka Falls! We had a go at action Taupo and we swam and hyderslided!

Rowan wins Alf Bayly Award


Rowan wins Alf Bayly Rugby Award By Miss O'B

Rowan Slater - 2015 Alf Bayly Award Recipient

Congratulations to Rowan Slater of Toko School who is the 2015 recipent of the Alf Bayly Trophy.
Rowan was vice captain of the Stratford Under 13 team and captained Toko School to their 5th consecutive McLeod Shield title.

On top of this Rowan captained the Central Ross Brown team and was selected in the tournament team at the Roller Mills Northern Regions Tournament where he was representing the TCRT Taranaki Under 13 team.

The Alf Bayly Trophy which was first presented in 1909, has been won by players including former All Blacks captain Graham Mourie, former All Blacks utitily back Neil Wolfe. Bayly played first-class rugby at just 16 and went on to represent New Zealand between 1893 and 1897.

Congratulations Rowan we are so proud of you!

Lions Speeches 2015

Peyton wins Lions Speech 2015 By Miss O'B

 The Lions Senior Speech Competition was held on Tuesday 20th October at the Toko Hall. Toko School did extremely well with Peyton W getting 1st place on his speech about domestic violence and Rowan S got 2nd place with his speech on pranking. Charlie W also took part in the competition with a speech on how to keep his mum happy.
 The school would like to congratulate both Peyton and Rowan S on their achievements and wish them well for the Regional Competition in Hawera.

Black Sticks Come to Toko School

Black Sticks Women Hockey Players come to Toko School By Miss O'B

 On Monday 19th October two black sticks hockey players Petrea Webster (119 caps for the Black Sticks) and Olivia Marry (100 caps for the Black Sticks) came out to visit Toko School as part of the Oceania International Hockey Tournament being held in Stratford.
 The girls both play striker and shared their wisdom about the game and their experiences with children in a question and answer session and then followed this with a skills session with some of our keen hockey players. A great time was had by all. Here are some of our action photos :)
